My favorite Bible chapter: 1Co 13:1 If I speak in the tongues n of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 1Co 13:2 If I have the gift of prophecy o and can fathom all mysteries p and all knowledge, q and if I have a faith r that can move mountains, s but have not love, I am nothing. 1Co 13:3 If I give all I possess to the poor t and surrender my body to the flames, u but have not love, I gain nothing. 1Co 13:4 Love is patient, v love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. w 1Co 13:5 It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, x it is not easily angered, y it keeps no record of wrongs. z 1Co 13:6 Love does not delight in evil a but rejoices with the truth. b 1Co 13:7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. c 1Co 13:8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, d they will cease; where there are tongues, e they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. 1Co 13:9 For we know in part f and we prophesy in part, 1Co 13:10 but when perfection comes, g the imperfect disappears. 1Co 13:11 When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways h behind me. 1Co 13:12 Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; i then we shall see face to face. j Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known. k 1Co 13:13 And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. l But the greatest of these is love. m

for everyone

Some photos that either my dad took or his friends as he served in the Pacific (Army)

My Dad and the plane that he took many photos from (not the pilot)

Dad's dark room set up on a Pacific Island.  He was a photographer and surveyor.  Went into the Army shortly after Pearl Harbor.  He has 3 albums of memories of the life and times of the men serving our country.  Recently I brought his albums home with me, scanned all the photos and put them into a new nice album.  Russ tooled him a leather cover.  I made DVD for family.

My Dad is very proud of this album.  I also have a video of him going through this album telling about the photos and his experiences as a young man serving our country.

This is a wonderful for generations to know your father as a person, not just grandad. These are some great pictures. Did he get a chance to take pictures of the Japanese Internment Camps?

I'm not sure. There were lot of photos that he was not allowed to take home. I do know there was some prisioners in some of the photos but don't remember where it was or the circumstance.

How wonderful, that you can share this with your Dad. My Dad was in North Africa and Italy, during the war. He really didn't like to talk about it much. But I do have some pictures of him in Italy.
We lost Dad 30 yrs ago, so all we have are the snapshots and the memories. Cherish this time with your Dad!

What a great thing to do!
I remember one of my Dad's photo album when I was young, but never could find out what happened to it once I was grown. He had all sorts of interesting photos from Burma. He was a doctor on loan to the Chinese army.
My mother saved all his letters he wrote home one of my sisters put them all into the computer and they sure make for some interesting reading.

Hope you & the family enjoy the album--- would be interesting to hear all the stories of all those WWII vets. I heard there is even one WWI vet in the US still alive.

Hug your daddy's neck for me. I'm thankful he wasn't in Pearl that day that it was attacked I did a blog last week on My Space that included Pearl. It was supposed to be about Military Veterans, So, give your daddy a hug from someone who's grateful for his service to our country!

I love old photos! Your Dad was talented! Photos are such a great record of history~ they convey thoughts and feeling of what the person living the historic event is feeling. It brings you there. What a great service for his country! I love the pic of the man on the beach!! I can see where you got your touch with the camera!!

There are several photos that tell a story without words, similar to this one. It was hard to choose which photos to use. As you can see that photo album is large.

Lynda, what a fantastic idea you had, putting that album together and letting your dad narrate and reminisce. Maybe my dad served at the same time. He was a Marine, was on Kwajalein Atol, an air base in the Marshall Islands. He has wonderful stories as well. Maybe I can do this, too. Great blog , Lynda.
